The Violation: Homeowners Fluke and Ramona Fluker (yes, that is their real name) along with daughter Brooke-Lynn were busted by the Garden Police for the deplorable condition of their front yard. The list of violations included: dead lawn, no privacy, no plant life, too much cement and general ugliness. We were surprised to know that the family did spend a lot of time out front since they liked to play basketball together. I couldn't stand the look of that yard for more than a minute so I couldn't imagine hanging out there.

The excuse? They didn't know what to do! Fluke, a high school teacher, mentor, and former Marine had never mowed a lawn in his life! Raised in Brooklyn, New York, Fluke was familiar with concrete but not grass. Ramona, a busy parole officer didn't know much about gardens either. When we took a look inside their house, we saw they had a great knack for decorating and had a beautiful collection of African art, so it wasn't lack of taste that made their yard this way. The Garden Police had to introduce this family to the "greener things in life."
