5/4/08 on The Garden Police: "In Bare Dispair"

Garden Police Solution:

The project began with the usual cleanup of weeds and unwanted plants. We called in our backup squad, the Green Team led by North Hills, California landscaper, Gabriel Rodriguez (818-231-3053) to help us finish the work in two short days. Some of the issues  we had to address included:
  1. Remove a tree planted too close to the house.
  2. Add two different types of planting soil to the yard. We used Kellogg brand, "Patio Plus" soil for mixing in to the planting beds, and "Topper" soil for the new sod areas. The soils were rototilled in at a depth of 8" to 10" inches.
  3. Install a new sprinkler system using Rain Bird parts and separate the valves for the lawn and garden areas.

The new lawn will be laid on a bed of amended
soil using Kellogg brand Topper Soil.

A new Rain Bird sprinkler system will ensure the plants are watered as needed.

Kellogg's Patio Plus Soil is nutritious and ideal
for planters, potted plants and garden beds.
