6/1/08 on The Garden Police: "Do It for the Kids"

Behind the "Crime" Scenes of Garden Police

(Supervising Producer of Garden Police, Lisa Ely is not too proud to help us dig!)

(Segment Producer, Robert Rosales at the end of his rope after marathon gardening!)

(Line Producer of Garden Police, John Davis is spent
after hours of trenching for sprinklers.)

(The Workman Family fed us a delicious steak BBQ dinner
after we wrapped the show! Thanks guys!)

A Word From Shirley:

I found out that the crew from Actuality Productions, including our supervising producer, Lisa Ely, our segment producer, Robert Rosales and our line producer, John Davis can officially quit their day job because they are fantastic gardeners! This project brought out the weekend gardener in the whole crew as they lent a helping hand to get us to our deadline. Even the neighbors joined in to assist us in with paint mixing.

Michael and I love the look of the yard. It's family- friendly and beautiful at the same time. We stayed close to our simple color pallet of plums, pinks and whites and selected plants that are easy care for the family. Can't wait for the Jacaranda tree to grow and cast its protective shade on the yard as well as the Pear tree alee. One day it will be a verdant tunnel welcoming the family home.

Enjoy your family and gardens. Please post your comments and questions in my Garden Talk Forum and visit the Discovery Home Channel web site for schedule and more Garden Police information. See you next week!
