The Violation: For two years, this yard was a "hillside headache" for homeowners, Ted and Gayle Feder and their neighbors down the street. After the rainy season, half of the Feder's front hillside washed out onto the sidewalk and down to the neighbors front steps! The hillside was unstable due to lack of plants. There were lots of weeds, but weeds don't count as plants to the Garden Police! The two plum trees planted there were too close together and were leaning over waiting for the next wind to bring them down. The front of the house looked desolate without foundation plants and there was no shade, causing the front door to overheat in the summertime. To add to the discomfort, the huge, glaring driveway was a literal eyesore causing everyone to scramble for their sunglasses! The homeowners explained that an extensive remodel of the interior of their home resulted in the destruction of the yard. Furthermore, the landscaper they entrusted to remedy things, disappeared before planting. Shirley and Michael, (Garden Police) and the Green Team to the rescue!
